Bundoora Homestead || a sonic landscape

Bundoora Homestead: a sonic landscape consists of a 6 channel surround sound installation with hand-made speakers inspired by Bundoora Homestead’s architecture, light boxes with imagery of soundwaves including photographs transformed into sonic data, paintings, and a large-scale drawing.

Bundoora Homestead is a heritage house, gallery and cafe in Bundoora, Melbourne. The homestead was built in 1899 in the Queen Anne style. It features stunning stained glass and plaster ceilings, while the reverberation within the building is quite unique. It was this interesting reverberation that inspired me to work with the homestead to create Bundoora Homestead: a sonic landscape.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Bundoora Homestead Art Centre and Darebin City Council for supporting this project.
